“It’s been really worth it to see something I designed to come out and be part of science,” says Rafael David González-Cruz. “There was a lot of me struggling and learning how to do things, but it was really rewarding.” Dr. González-Cruz recently defended his thesis in the Darling lab on mechanical property and gene expression heterogeneity in adipose-derived stem cell populations.

Shukla Awarded Henry Merritt Wriston Fellowship

Assistant Professor of Engineering Anita Shukla has been awarded a Henry Merritt Wriston Fellowship for 2018-2019. Shukla is one of five recipients of the fellowship which is awarded each year to regular untenured members of the Brown faculty (assistant professors and lecturers) who have achieved a record of excellence in teaching and scholarship during their first years at the University.
Dr. Hochberg is a Principal Investigator on the Brain Gate Project, a Professor of Engineering at Brown, Director of the Center for Neurotechnology and Neurorecovery at Massachusetts General Hospital, Director of the VA Rehabilitation R&D Center for Neurorestoration and Neurotechnology, and Senior Lecturer on Neurology at Harvard Medical School.
